Please explain how Crobat's "Triggered Poison" effect would react to an opponent's Venusaur's "Harvest Bounty" power. A. The Power's effect has already started...it has replaced the regular energy placement for that turn. By the time the Harvest Bounty Power is shut off due to Poison it's too late to stop you from placing the additional energy. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q80) Q. Let's say my active Pokemon has only 10hp left, and Venusaur with "Harvest Bounty" is on the bench. If I attach a Rainbow Energy to my active first, is the pokemon KO'd immediately and if so, what do I do with the second energy card? A. It would be KO'd immediately and the other energy follows the KO'd Pokemon into the discard pile. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q81) == MOONLIGHT (Clefable - Expedition Expansion) Q. If you use Expedition Clefable's Poke Power "Moonlight" and there isn't a Basic energy in your deck, do you still keep the card that you "put on your deck" in it? A. Yes, you do. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q89) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UNOWN CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == CHAOS GYM (Gym: Challenge Expansion) [see also Pokemon Power: "Mind Games"] Q. If Chaos Gym is in play, how do we handle using supporters? If I flip tails, does my opponent get a chance to use it or not? A. Ok, supporters are basically normal Trainer cards with a limit built in (can only play 1 per turn). If you flip tails with Chaos Gym (after playing a supporter), your opponent can choose to use it if they want. That supporter would get placed down on the table as normal (near their active) and then would be discarded as normal at the end of your turn. Since YOU did not succesfully play a Supporter, you could try to play another one. This is just like Professor Elm and Chaos Gym in this sense. If you try a second one and it fails again your opponent could NOT use this second one as they are only allowed to use 1 per turn. Same as for Professor Elm. The only tricky part is that you need to remember to discard that supporter back into YOUR discard pile at the end of your turn. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q115) ***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS SINCE BEEN OVERRULED; See Above ***** Q. A Supporter has to be used immediately upon being played, correct? The "if you don't use it" phrasing is only for things like Chaos Gym, right? So, if you play a Supporter and flip tails on Chaos Gym, can your opponent use it, and can you try to play another Supporter or does the first one sit there, useless? A. We will have to say that on a failed Chaos Gym flip, the opponent could NOT use a supporter card (as it goes into play, to mark that a supporter was used). They would not put it next to their active Pokemon as you never take another player's cards. So on a failed Chaos Gym flip, a supporter would just be discarded. The card does NOT work and it is discarded, opponent cannot use it (think of it like a Poketool in this case). You could still try and play another on your turn since the first one didn't resolve. (Oct 3, 2002 WotC Chat, Q43 & Q45) == CLEFAIRY DOLL (Base Set) / MYSTERIOUS FOSSIL (Fossil Expansion) Q. Can you play the "Multi Technical Machine 01" (TM01) on a Clefairy Doll or Mysterious Fossil since they count as Pokemon while in play? A. Yes. The text states that Clefairy Doll has no attacks, but you give it one when you put the TM on it. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q75 & Q91) == FULL HEAL (Base Set) Q. The E-Card Full Heal is reworded so you can get rid of the Burned Condition. If I play an older version of the card, like from Base Set, will that get rid of the Burned Special Condition as well even though it states only the 4 conditions? A. Yes, like with other reprinted card, use the most recent wording. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q82) == HEAL POWDER (Neo: Destiny Expansion) Q. Can Heal Powder be used to remove the new "Burned" special condition? A. The Heal Powder card states exactly what conditions it can remove. Burn isn't one of the listed conditions. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q76) == MULTI TECHNICAL MACHINE 01 (Expedition Expansion) Q. Can you play the "Multi Technical Machine 01" (TM01) on a Clefairy Doll or Mysterious Fossil since they count as Pokemon while in play? A. Yes. The text states that Clefairy Doll has no attacks, but you give it one when you put the TM on it. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q75 & Q91) Q. Can Clefable Metronome a TM 01? A. How? The TM is discarded at the end of the turn that it is attached. If your opponent used one, it would be gone before you started your turn. (Oct 10, 2002 WotC Chat, Q118) == POTION (Base Set) / SUPER POTION (Base Set) Q. The new Expedition version of Potion says "remove 2 damage counters", but the original version said "remove *UP TO* 2 damage counters". Which way should we play the new card? A. Play it the same as the original.
