If I have an active Skyridge Umbreon, does my opponent's benched Muk shut off Dark Gaze, or does Dark Gaze shut off Toxic Gas? A. Remember the older Pokemon that have Pokemon Powers are NOT broken down into Poke_BODYs or Poke-POWERs. So the Umbreon only prevents "Poke-POWERs"; Muk's "Pokemon Power" is not affected. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1598) Q. So just to confirm, Umbreon's "Dark Gaze" only prevents those labeled as "Poke-POWER". Older style "Pokemon Power" and "Poke-BODY" are not affected, right? A. Correct. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1604) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == ENERGY SPLASH (Politoed - Skyridge Expansion) Q. Skyridge Politoed Energy Splash vs Neutral Shield: damage is negated, but does the move energy effect still occur? A. Yes it does as it is not an effect done to Mew. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1595) == FREEZE LOCK (Dewgong - Skyridge Expansion) Q. Skyridge Dewgong "Freeze Lock": the card text says "flip a coin, if heads your opponent can't attach energy cards from his or her hand to his or her active pokemon during his or her next turn". If the active pokemon retreats, does the effect wear off? A. Yes, it does. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1577) Q. Skyridge Dewgong "Freeze Lock" vs. Neutral Shield: would Freeze Lock work? (again, does not refer to defending pokemon, but opponent's active pokemon) A. Neutral Shield would prevent the Freeze Lock (if Mew was active of course). (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1587) Q. If Dewgong's Freeze Lock attack is done to a Harvest Bounty Venusaur, can energy be attached? A. It can't be attached per Freeze Lock. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1589) == WATER OF EVOLUTION (Omanyte - Skyridge Expansion) Q. Can I use Omanyte's "Water of Evolution" attack on the same turn I play Omanyte from my hand? A. Yes. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1576) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UNOWN CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == DESERT SHAMAN (Skyridge Expansion) Q. Desert Shaman says, "Shuffle your hand into your deck and draw up to 4 cards; your opponent does the same". Does this mean that if you choose to only draw one card, your opponent only gets to draw one card? Or can they draw up to four if they want to? A. Each player can draw up to 4 cards. What you choose does not limit your opponent. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1571) == MIRAGE STADIUM (Skyridge Expansion) Q. If a confused pokemon attempts to retreat while Mirage Stadium is in play, do you flip for Confusion first or flip for the Mirage Stadium first? A. This one is going to come down to who controls the stadium. If your opponent does, you will have to check for your Confusion retreat first because when two events happen at the same time, the active player's effects go first. If you controlled the stadium, since they both trigger at the same time and you control them both (in this example), you would choose the order of their effect. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1573) == POKEMON PARK (Aquapolis Expansion) Q. Pokemon Park Stadium says "..whenever a player attaches an Energy from their hand to a BENCHED Pokemon remove a damage counter from it." I played Warp Energy on my active Pokemon "when you attach Warp Energy from your hand to your active Pokemon, Switch your active with one of your benched Pokemon". OK--we have two things happening at once maybe Pokemon hits bench then checks for Park and removes a damage counter???????? A. No, you are actually attaching the energy to your active Pokemon...not a benched one. You would not remove a damage counter. (May 15, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1600) == STAR PIECE (Skyridge Expansion) Q. Can you use Star Piece to evolve to a higher stage Pokemon like you do with Pokemon Breeder? A. No, you would have to Evolve it into the next natural stage.
