What happens if Aggron-EX uses "Metal Surge" VS. an active Wobbuffet? Does Wobbuffet take no damage and all benched pokemon take 20 damage? Or does the "Safeguard" PokeBody prevent damage and effects done to the benched pokemon too? A. Sorry, Wobbuffet's Safeguard only protects itself. The benched Pokemon would be damaged by Aggron-EX. (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == TRANSFORM (Ditto - Fossil) Q. When Fossil Ditto is KO'd by an -EX Pokemon are two prizes awarded or just one? For example, if I have Fossil Ditto as my active Pokemon and my opponent has Mewtwo-EX as his active Pokemon, when Mewtwo-EX knocks out Ditto does my opponent get two prizes? A. Yes, Ditto copies the "two-prize" effect from -EX Pokemon. If Shiftry uses "Feint Attack" against Whiscash with "Submerge" Poke-Body on the bench, which one prevails? The attack or the Poke-Body? A. Feint Attack ignores ANY effect on that Pokemon which attempts to prevent its damage; the attack itself specifically states that the attack's damage isn't affected by Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies (and other things as well). (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. If Shiftry uses "Feint Attack" against a Pokemon that successfully used "Agility" the previous turn, would Agility prevent the Feint Attack or not? A. No, the Feint Attack ignores any effects on the Defending Pokemon, including Agility, Wonder Guard, etc. (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. If Shiftry uses "Feint Attack" against a Pokemon that used "Smokescreen" the previous turn, would it have to flip for Smokescreen or not? A. Yes it would have to flip. The effect of Smokescreen lies on the Shiftry, and Feint Attack only ignores effects on the DEFENDING Pokemon. (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. Does "Feint Attack" allow you to ignore the Baby Rule? A. No, the Baby Rule is not an "effect" on the Defending Pokemon. It is a game rule. (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == LIGHTNING STRIKE (Jolteon - EX:Sandstorm) Q. Sandstorm Jolteon's Lightning Strike attack says, "You may discard all lightning energy from Jolteon. If you do, this atacks base damage is 70" or something like that. Does that mean that the attack's base damage is 70 throughout the whole match? A. No, the base damage is only raised for the remainder of that turn. (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == PULL DOWN (Omastar - EX:Sandstorm) Q. If the Defending Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition, and I attack them with Omastar's "Pull Down" attack, does the removal of the highest Stage Evolution card cause the Defending Pokemon to be cured of that Special Condition? A. In most cases, whenever a Pokemon changes its evolutionary state any Special Conditions are removed from it. That would be the case in this situation too; the Special Condition is removed. (Jan 8, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == POKEMON BREEDER FIELDS (Neo:Revelation) Q. Would it be possible to use Pokemon Breeder Fields and flip for a Pichu (Sandstorm) or any of the other new baby pokemon (Nintendo sets) and get a pokemon that evolve from them? A. Pokemon Breeder Fields looks for non-Baby Pokemon that can evolve. Sandstorm Pichu is definitely a "non-baby Pokemon" by the fact that it is technically considered a "Basic Pokemon", not a "Baby Pokemon". However, these newer "non-babies" don't evolve normally, thus do not work with Pokemon Breeder Fields.
