Say TRR Skiploom has 50 damage on it and the opponent uses ATM-Rock to devolve Skiploom back to Hoppip. Would Hoppip's "Buffer" Poke-BODY come into play in a situation like this? A. No, Hoppip would be knocked out if there were too many damage counters on it. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN OVERRULED; See Above ***** Q. Say TRR Skiploom has 50 damage on it and the opponent uses ATM-Rock to devolve Skiploom back to Hoppip. Would Hoppip's "Buffer" Poke-BODY come into play in a situation like this? A. Yes, ATM-Rock's "Stone Generator" is considered an attack, and if an attack causes the Pokemon to be KO'd during that player's turn then "Buffer" will trigger. (Nov 18, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == DARKEST IMPULSE (Dark Ampharos - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. Dark Ampharos' "Darkest Impulse" says that you can't use more than 1 Darkest Impulse Poke-Body each turn. Does that mean that this power goes off every time they evolve a Pokemon, or does it only go off the first time they evolve that turn? A. Darkest Impulse applies whenever the opponent evolves a Pokemon, but you cannot combine multiple Dark Ampharoses to do additional damage. The intent of the "can't use more than one" phrase is to prevent it from being cumulative (i.e. 4 Dark Ampharos cannot be combined to place 8 damage counters). (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN OVERRULED; See Above ***** Q. Dark Ampharos' "Darkest Impulse" says that you can't use more than 1 Darkest Impulse Poke-Body each turn. Does that mean that this power goes off every time they evolve a Pokemon, or does it only go off the first time they evolve that turn? A. It only works on the first Pokemon the opponent evolves during that turn. (Nov 4, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. Say my opponent has Dark Ampharos, and I use Milotic with "Energy Shower". Can I have Energy Shower remove the damage AFTER Dark Ampharos' "Darkest Impulse" places a counter on Milotic? A. No, Energy Shower happens first. You, as the current player, resolve all of your effects first. Then, your opponent resolves all of his or her effects. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == LAZY (Slaking - EX:Ruby/Sapphire) Q. Does Slaking's "Lazy" Poke-BODY prevent coming-into-play Poke-POWERS? A. Nope, "coming into play" powers are not prevented by Slaking's "Lazy" [similar to the behavior of Muk-EX's "Toxic Gas"]. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == MIRACULOUS WIND (Light Dragonite - Neo: Destiny Expansion) Q. Say I have a Skyridge Alakazam on the bench, a Light Dragonite active, and any Dark/Rocket's pokemon on the bench; if I attach R-Energy to the Dark/Rocket's pokemon, could I be use Alakazam's "Energy Jump" to move the energy to a non-Dark/Rocket's pokemon (as Light Dragonite would take away the effects of R-Energy)? A. Yes, but if Light Dragonite leaves play, the R Energy would be removed if the current Pokemon it was attached to is not Rocket's or Dark. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == POWDER PROTECTION (Ledian - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. If Ledian is the active Pokemon, does the damage reducing (-40) effect take place before or after the appplying of Weakness and Resistance? A. After - it's an effect on the Defending Pokemon. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == THICK SKIN (Roselia - EX:Dragon; Raticate - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) [CHRISBO NOTE: Change title to include Roselia too.] Q. What happens if I use Swoop!Teleporter to switch a poisoned Dunsparce for a Roselia with "Thick Skin" (can't be affected by Special Conditions)? Does the status effect go away or does it stay on because it was already on? A. Well, since Thick Skin says it "can't be affected by Special Conditions", the status effect would be removed automatically when Swoop'ing for Roselia. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == DARK SEED (Dark Raticate - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. If my Dark Raticate attacks with "Dark Seed", will the effect of this attack still be performed if Dark Raticate is forced to retreat or is knocked out during my opponent's turn? A. The effect is on the Defending Pokemon, not Dark Raticate. So even if Dark Raticate is KO'd or is benched, the effect still applies. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == RAINBOW MOVES (Togetic - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. If Togetic's "Rainbow Moves" copies an attack like Dark Golbat's "Night Ambush" which says it "can't attack during your next turn", that means that Togetic may not attack at all the next turn unless it gets benched, right? A. Yes, that is correct. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. Togetic has 3 basic energies attached and uses "Rainbow Moves" to copy Quagsire's "Hyper Pump". Does the attack do 20, 60, or 80 damage? Rainbow Moves basically says to ignore the Energy Cost, so how much does it do? A. Same ruling as Kingdra-EX & "Energy Cannon" - the 3 Energy is considered as "the payment" for Togetic's attack cost. It would do only 20 with 3 Energy attached to it. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. If I have an active Togetic and my opponent has one on their bench, can I attack with "Rainbow Moves" and copy the opponent's benched "Rainbow Moves" and in effect copy one of my own benched Pokemon's attacks? A. No, all you would be doing is copying the same text that you already have on Togetic, making a loop, doing nothing. Togetic copying Togetic's Rainbow Moves - congratulations, you get to use Rainbow Moves on your opponent's Benched Pokemon... again. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == VINE TEASE (Tangela - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. Tangela's "Vine Tease" allows you to look at your prizes and switch one of them with the top card of your deck. Are the prizes then shuffled around or are they simply laid down, so that the player who used Vine Tease knows all his prizes with the exception of the new one? A. The player using Vine Tease may place their prizes back down in any order they want. TELEPORTER (EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. What happens if I use Swoop!Teleporter to switch a poisoned Dunsparce for a Roselia with "Thick Skin" (can't be affected by Special Conditions)? Does the status effect go away or does it stay on because it was already on? A.
