Let's say Charizard-EX uses "Burn Down" on a Jumpluff. Would Jumpluff get to use it's "Buffer" or not (because "Burn Down" is not affected by Poke-Bodies)? A. The Burn Down attack is not affected because Buffer does not kick in until *after* Burn Down has done all its damage. However, after Burn Down has done its mega damage, Buffer kicks in and if successful would get to remove damage counters from Jumpluff until 10 HP are left. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == DRAGON AURA (Rayquaza - EX:Deoxys) Q. Let's say Player A's Active Rayquaza has a Lightning Energy card attached; Player B attacks the Rayquaza and successfully Poisons it with the attack. During Player A's next turn, he attaches a Fire Energy card to Rayquaza. Does Dragon Aura remove the Poison Special Condition in this instance? A. No. Dragon Aura doesn't look back in time to see where the effect came from, just the attack at the time it is being attacked. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == VIGOROUS AURA (Vigoroth - EX:Deoxys) Q. Let's say both players have Vigoroth in the Active position. Would this in effect add +20 (ten times two) to each player's attacks? A. Yes, in a Vigoroth vs. Vigoroth battle the "Vigorous Aura" power would add +10 for each player (both you and your opponent). It would also do +20 in the case of a 2-on-2 battle where one person has two Vigoroth's active. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == AGILITY (Raichu - Base Set, Rapidash - Jungle, many others) Q. Player A attacks and flips a heads for "Agility". Then Player B uses Machamp's "Brick Smash" attack; would this ignore Agility? A. In this case, Agility would be considered an "effect on the Defending Pokemon" and therefore Brick Smash would be able to overcome Agility. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == BAY DANCE (Pelipper - EX:Deoxys) Q. After doing 10 damage on the first turn, does each successive use of Pelipper's "Bay Dance" attack do 40 damage, even after knocking out the opponent's first active pokemon, and going to the second? A. That is correct. As long as Pelipper remains active and keeps using the attack, you'll keep doing 40 damage (i.e. 10, 40, 40, ...). It does NOT accumulate an additional +30 each turn (NOT 10, 40, 70, 100, ...). (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == BRICK SMASH (Machamp - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. Player A attacks and flips a heads for "Agility". Then Player B uses Machamp's "Brick Smash" attack; would this ignore agility? A. In this case, Agility would be considered an "effect on the Defending Pokemon" and therefore Brick Smash would be able to overcome Agility. == FLY (Taillow - EX:Deoxys) Q. If I use Taillow's "Fly" attack and flip Heads, can the opponent still use an attack like "Collect" that simply lets them draw a card? A. The effect of "Fly" only protects Taillow; anything else such as bench damage or things done on the attacking player's side (like drawing a card or healing) still work normally. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == CRYSTAL SHARD (Skyridge; EX:Deoxys) Q. If you use Crystal Shard on a dual-type Pokemon (like TM Groudon), would it become "competely colorless" or can you choose only one of the types to be replaced? A. It would become a single-type colorless Pokemon as long as the Crystal Shard is attached. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SPACE CENTER (EX:Deoxys) Q. If Space Center stadium is in play, can Minun use its "Negative Spark" attack or not (since Space Center says to "ignore all Poke-Bodies")? A. Just because a Poke-BODY is ignored doesn't mean it is no longer present on the card. Minun's Negative Spark would work. (Feb 17, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SURPRISE! TIME MACHINE (EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. If I use "Surprise! Time Machine" and remove a Stage 2 Pokemon that was evolved from a Basic using Rare Candy, can I search for a Stage 1 Pokemon card and then evolve it using Wally's Training or Rare Candy? A. You could use the Wally's Training afterwards, but you cannot use Rare Candy on a Stage 1 Pokemon.
