For Aquapolis Slowbro's "Dense Body" power, is the -20 damage reduction calculated before or after Weakness/Resistance? A. Without it being specified you always fall back on the "How do you figure out the damage?" list from the rule book. Pokemon Powers are calculated after Weakness and Resistance are done. (Apr 3, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1041) == TRANSPARENCY (Haunter - Fossil Expansion) Q. What would happen if Rocket's Mewtwo with 5 damage counters uses Juxtapose against a Fossil Haunter with 0 damage and gets heads on Juxtapose, would Transparency trigger or would the 5 damage counters move to Haunter and then knocking it out? A. Transparency says : Whenever an attack does anything to Haunter, flip a coin, if heads, prevent all effects of that attack, including damage, done to Haunter. Switching damage counters is an effect of the Juxtapose attack. What would happen if Sabrina's Kadabra uses Life Drain on a Rocket's Hitmonchan that used Crosscounter during its last turn, can Rocket's 'chan flip for Crosscounter, or it doesn't because it doesn't get damaged? A. It doesn't because it was not damaged, just had damage counters placed on it. Not the same thing. (Apr 3, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1054) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UNOWN CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == DUAL BALL (Aquapolis Expansion) Q. Can you use Dual Ball to search your deck for a cleffa doll? A. Nope, you have to search for Pokemon, not Trainers. (Apr 3, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1087) == GRASS CUBE 01 (Aquapolis Expansion) Q. Lets say you attach a Grass Cube to a pokemon and then it changes type. Do you discard the cube? A. Nope, it only checks for the type when you attach it. (Apr 3, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1083) Q. So can Jungle Venomoth get a Grass Cube attached, then Shift, say to Dark, would you be able to attach Darkness Cube and then have two diferent TMs at one time? and I belive that Venomoth wouldn't get damaged because of the Darkness Energy because it would now be a dark type. Am I right? A. Correct, and yes you could have both attached though why you would do that is beyond me. (Apr 3, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1089) == LIGHTNING CUBE 01 (Aquapolis Expansion) Q. Can you attach a eletric cube onto a cleffa? A. Do you mean a Lightning Cube 01? The cards says you can only attach it to a lightning Pokemon, so unless that Cleffa is Painted to Lightning, the answer would be no. (Apr 3, 2003 WotC Chat, Q1080) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ENERGY CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL GAMEPLAY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == STARTING THE GAME Q. In the beginning of a game, if I win the coin toss, does the other person have to tell me if they got a basic or not before drawing their two extra cards? A. I'm assuming that the active player did not have a basic or baby in their first hand in your question. The non-active player does NOT have to reveal whether they have a baby or basic before they draw the extra cards.
