If I use Skyridge Ditto's "Copy" attack and choose my oppenent's Rayquaza-EX's "Dragon Burst" attack, would I have to discard ALL of my Basic Energy cards? A. Ditto's "Prismatic Body" Poke-BODY says that all basic energy provides EVERY TYPE of energy, much like Rainbow Energy does. So no matter which energy type you choose to discard for Dragon Burst, all Basic Energy cards would have to be discarded because they would be providing all types simultaneously. If I attach Boost Energy to a Forretress from EX-Dragon with no energy on it, can I use Backspin and switch Pokemon with the attack? Or does the Boost Energy get discarded before I can use the switching effect? A. Yes, that would work. The discarding part is done after the attack, but technically "before the end of the turn". (Feb 20, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == DRAGON SONG (Altaria - EX:Dragon) Q. Altaria's Dragon Song says: "Each Defending Pokemon is now Asleep." Does this mean that both my opponent and Altaria go to sleep? Or is the phrase "each defending" referring to 2-on-2 battle? A. It is referring to 2-on-2 battle. Normally in 2-on-2 the attack only affects one of the opponent's Defending Pokemon, but with Dragon Song both of the opponent's Defending Pokemon are asleep (the damage part is only done to one of them though). In normal 1-on-1 play, only the opponent's Defending Pokemon is put to sleep. (Feb 20, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == FEINT ATTACK (Murkrow - Neo: Genesis Expansion, Umbreon - Neo: Discovery Expansion, Houndour - Aquapolis Expansion; others) Q. Does Feint Attack go through Metal Energy or not? A. Feint Attack normally ignores ANY effect attempting to reduce its damage, even Metal Energy. But, Feint Attack is worded differently on some of the older sets where the "ignoring" part only applies to the Defending Pokemon. On those older cards, Metal Energy does reduce the damage when Feint Attack targets the bench; but on more recent cards, ignoring reduction applies to both Defending and Benched Pokemon. Suppose I'm in a 2-on-2 match and Mirage Stadium is in play. I attempt to retreat one of my Active Pokémon, but get tails on the Mirage Stadium flip. Can I then attempt to retreat my other Active Pokémon on the same turn, since my other Active didn't retreat? A. If you attempt to retreat a Pokemon and the attempt fails for whatever reason, you do not get an opportunity to retreat your other Active Pokemon. In 2-on-2 Battle, you still just get one retreat action per turn.
