Can you Energy Trans a Rainbow Energy, Multi Energy, or any other special energy cards? A. As long as they are providing Grass energy and don't violate any other restrictions written on the card (i.e. can't move Double Rainbow Energy to a basic Pokemon), then yes you may. (May 6, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == GENETIC MEMORY (Kingdra - Neo: Revelation Expansion; Kingdra EX - EX:Dragon) Q. When Kingdra-EX uses "Genetic Memory" to use Seadra's "Energy Cannon" attack, does the attack cost for Genetic Memory count as "not used to pay for this attack's Energy Cost"? A. Kingdra-EX doesn't have to pay for THAT attack's energy cost, but it still has to pay for its own. So the Energy Cannon would to 20 if one energy is attached, 30 if two energies are attached, and 40 if three energies are attached. The 1 water is paying the Genetic Memory's attack cost which is taking the place of the Energy Cannon's attack cost; that 1 water would NOT count as an extra. (May 6, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == HYPER PUMP (Swampert EX - EX:Team Magma/Team Aqua) Q. Swampert-EX's 'Hyper Pump' attack says, "does 20 damage plus 20 more damage for "each basic energy attached" but not used to pay for the attack cost". Since the attack says "basic energy" and not "basic energy card", does that mean that cards like Rainbow and Multi would count towards the extra damage or not? And if those do, would Metal and Darkness energies work too? And what about colorless energies like Boost, Recycle, DCE, etc.? A. The intent of Hyper Pump is to do more damage for each Basic Energy CARD attached to Swampert-EX. So Metal, Darkness, Rainbow, or any other Special Energy cards do not add to the damage. (May 6, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == TEAM AQUA BELT / TEAM MAGMA BELT (EX:Team Magma/Team Aqua) Q. If my active pokemon gets poisoned by an attack, can I use Team Aqua Belt or Team Magma Belt to evolve and remove the poison condition before it kicks in? A. Yes, this similar to the behavior of Miracle Berry and Poison. You can choose to activate the trainer "at any time between turns", before or after the Poison damage is applied. (May 6, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ENERGY CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == DOUBLE RAINBOW ENERGY (EX:Team Magma/Team Aqua) Q. Can I use attacks, powers, etc. to move an opponent's Double Rainbow Energy to a Basic Pokémon? A. No. Moving a Special Energy is subject to any rules for allowing that Special Energy to be attached to the new Pokemon. (May 6, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL GAMEPLAY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == DRAW PILE / DISCARD PILE [CHRISBO NOTE: Make section header to reflect both piles] Q. Is a player allowed to count the number of cards in his/her deck during a game, provided he/she doesn't change the order of the cards? And if so, is it permissible to count your opponent's deck as well? A. Yes, the number of cards in both your and your opponent's deck are public information. Although it is recommended that the player counts his or her cards during their opponent's turn, in a manner that doesn't disrupt or slow down the game.
