If I use Rare Candy to evolve Feebas into Milotic, can I still take advantage of Milotic's "Healing Shower" Poke-Power at that time? A. No. Healing Shower states "when you play Milotic from your hand to evolve..."; otherwise it would have been phrased "when Milotic comes into play from your hand..." (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == MIRROR COAT (Wobbuffet - Skyridge) Q. If Skyridge Wobbuffet is attacked by "Toxic" or "Triple Poison", does the attacking Pokemon also receive the double-poison or triple-poison special condition too? A. Yes, that is correct. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == OVERZEALOUS (Machamp - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. Machamp's "Overzealous" Poke-Power adds 30 more damage to its attacks; is this 30 done before or after Weakness/Resistance? A. Overzealous adds +30 to the attack, but does not change the attack's base damage (for purposes of other pokemon copying Machamp's attacks). It is figured in at Step [b], when you add damage effects on the Attacking Pokemon. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == CHIME (Chimecho - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. Could you use Chimecho's "Chime" attack and use a Steven's Advice from your opponent's discard pile if you have more than 7 cards in your hand? Steven's Advice says 'you can't play this card if you have 7 or more cards in your hand', but you're technically not really playing the card, just using it as an attack. A. Yes. This also applies to Sableye's Supernatural attack - just as you can *use* these attacks, even if you've played a Supporter during your turn, you are not subject to the additional restriction of Steven's Advice. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == CORAL GLOW (Corsola - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. If you use Corsola's "Coral Glow" and you have nine cards in your hand and your opponent has 3 Pokemon in play, would you draw just one card, or you can't use the attack? A. You can use it at 9 and draw 1. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == INTENSE GLARE (Ninetales EX - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. If the opponent does not have any benched pokemon and I use Ninetales ex's "Intense Glare", what will happen?? A. It refers to affecting the *new* Defending Pokemon. It cannot affect a Pokemon it did not switch. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == SUPERNATURAL (Sableye - EX:Sandstorm) Q. Could you use Sableye's "Supernatural" attack and use a Steven's Advice from your opponent's discard pile if you have more than 7 cards in your hand? Steven's Advice says 'you can't play this card if you have 7 or more cards in your hand', but you're technically not really playing the card, just using it as an attack. A. Yes. Just as you can *use* these attacks, even if you've played a Supporter during your turn, you are not subject to the additional restriction of Steven's Advice. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == RAINBOW STAR (Starmie - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. If the defending Pokemon has a Rainbow Energy attached to it, how does that factor into the HL Starmie's "+10 more damage for each type of basic energy attached to the Defending Pokemon"? Does it make it do +60 damage (10 times each of the 6 basic energy types)? A. Rainbow Star only counts the basic Energy cards that are attached to the Pokemon - not Special Energy cards. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == ANCIENT TECHNICAL MACHINE [ICE] / [ROCK] / [STEEL] (EX:Hidden Legends) [see Pokemon Attacks - "Ice Generator", "Stone Generator", and "Steel Generator" for card-specific attacks.] Q. In regards to the Ancient TMs, would the words "Light" or "Dark" in a Pokemon's name be considered an owner? A. No, "Light" and "Dark" are more of a characteristic than indicative of ownership. You are allowed to attach the Ancient TM's to "Light" and "Dark" Pokemon. (Jul 1, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == DESERT RUINS (EX:Hidden Legends) Q. What happens if Desert Ruins is in play and both players have EXes that will be knocked out between turns? Are both KO's considered to be resolved at the same time, or do both players play chicken with each other until they get called for stalling? A. Both KO at the same time.
