Say you have a Relicanth active and a Dark Gengar on the bench. Since both of them have the "Deep Sleep" Pokemon Power, does that mean you have to flip FOUR coins to see if you wake up? A. No, Deep Sleep is not a cumulative power; you only have to flip exactly 2 coins. You cannot flip more than 2 coins if you had two Relicanth active in 2-on-2 play either. (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == EERIE AURA (Hypno - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. If an opponent's Hypno and my Active Pokemon both remain Asleep between turns, and if Hypno only has 20 hp left, can my Active avoid the damage from Hypno by waiting until the opponent knocks itself out? A. Even if Hypno is KO'd, the same effect still gets applied to both players, meaning your Active takes two damage counters if it remains asleep. (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == EXTRA ENERGY BOMB (Electrode EX - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. If you use Electrode-EX's PokePower and Knock it out, can you search for any of the Energy cards that were attached to it that are now in the discard pile, to attach to one of your other Pokemon? A. Yes, you may. (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == FAMILY BONDS (Nidoqueen - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. If my opponent has a Nidoqueen with "Family Bonds" in play, does that mean that I can reduce my own Nido's Retreat Costs to zero as well? A. Family Bonds does not specify "your Pokemon" or theirs, so it can apply to both players' sides. (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == REST UP (Snorlax - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. Say Snorlax is Asleep and the opponent has a Hypno. Can Snorlax use its "Rest Up" Poke-Body before or after taking damage from Hypno's "Eerie Aura"? A. Snorlax can choose whether to use its "Rest Up" either before or after Hypno's "Eerie Aura". (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) Q. Say Snorlax is Asleep and the opponent has a Hypno. Also, Snorlax has a Lum Berry attached and fails to wake up from the coin flip. Can Snorlax heal its 2 damage counters first, then trigger the Lum Berry to avoid Hypno's damage? A. You can choose to use the Lum Berry either before or after the coin flip; it's up to player what gets done first. So for Snorlax, you have to either choose to wake him up with Lum Berry, or stay asleep and use the "Rest Up" Poké-Body; it cannot avoid Hypno's damage if it stays asleep. (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == THICK SKIN (Raticate - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. Say FR/LG Raticate is poisoned while its body is off thanks to Muk-EX's "Toxic Gas". If Muk-EX leaves play, does Raticate remain poisoned, or does its Poke-Body get rid of it for him? A. When the Muk-EX leaves play and the "Thick Skin" Poke-Body comes back on, Raticate won't be poisoned any more. (Oct 7, 2004 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == LUM BERRY (EX:Ruby/Sapphire) Q. If you have a Lum Berry attached to your active pokemon and the opponent puts your pokemon to sleep, could one try flipping to see if they wake up before using the Lum Berry? A. Yep, Lum Berry says "...at any time between turns...". So you can potentially save the Lum Berry for another time.
