If I have Quagsire and my opponent has Ampharos-EX in play and I attach an energy card to my Quagsire from my hand, which Poke-Power gets applied first, Saturation or Conductivity? A. Conductivity and Saturation happen at the same time, so the player attaching energy would get to decide which effect to apply first. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == DARKEST IMPULSE (Dark Ampharos - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. Say my opponent has Dark Ampharos, and I use Milotic with "Energy Shower". Can I have Energy Shower remove the damage AFTER Dark Ampharos' "Darkest Impulse" places a counter on Milotic? A. Healing Shower and Darkest Impulse happen at the same time. So the player controlling Milotic would decide which effect to apply first. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN OVERRULED; See Above ***** Q. Say my opponent has Dark Ampharos, and I use Milotic with "Energy Shower". Can I have Energy Shower remove the damage AFTER Dark Ampharos' "Darkest Impulse" places a counter on Milotic? A. No, Energy Shower happens first. You, as the current player, resolve all of your effects first. Then, your opponent resolves all of his or her effects. (Dec 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == FLUFF (Swablu - EX:Deoxys) Q. I use Starmie's "Energy Flip" vs. an active damaged Swablu with the "Fluff" Poke-BODY. Does Fluff let my opponent flip to block me from moving an energy from a benched Pokemon to Swablu? A. Moving an Energy to Swablu is an "effect done to Swablu", and therefore your opponent flips to see if it is blocked (since Swablu already had a damage counter on it). (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == HEAL DANCE (Bellossom - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. Bellossom's "Heal Dance" says. "...you may remove 2 damage counters from 1 of your Pokemon..." So if I had a Pokemon with only 1 damage counter on it, would I be able to remove that damage counter or not? A. Yes, you may remove one counter if that's all the damage that Pokemon has on it. But you must remove two if it has more than one damage counter. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == HEALING SHOWER (Milotic - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. If an opponent's Rhydon with "Power Diffusion" is active and my "Feint Attack" targets the bench, the Poke-body trying to prevent the damage is not on the Pokemon being attacked. So would Rhydon stop any Feint Attack damage to the bench or not? A. The active Rhydon's "Power Diffusion" is considered "an effect on the benched Pokemon", so in this case Feint Attack would ignore it. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SAFEGUARD (Wobbuffet - EX:Sandstorm; Ninetales - EX:Hidden Legends; Dewgong - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. Wobbuffet vs. Ninetales-EX... I try to use "Intense Glare" (switch 1 your opponent's Benched Pokemon with 1 of the Defending Pokemon...) on Wobbuffet. Does Wobbuffet's Safeguard Poke-Body prevent the switch? A. Yes it would prevent the switch. In addition, you could not do Intense Glare to bring up a Wobbuffet from the bench either, as that would be an "effect being done to Wobbuffet by a Pokemon-EX." (Feb 24, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SATURATION (Quagsire - EX:Team Rocket Returns, Wooper - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SOOTH DUST (Butterfree - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) [CHRISBO NOTE: Fix bolding in header of this section] Q. Say your active Pokémon gets knocked out. You promote a Pokémon to the active position with an 'if active between turns' Pokémon power like Victreebel's 'Acid Sampler' or Butterfree's 'Sooth Dust'. Does that power get activated? A. It depends on if the Pokemon was KO'd between turns (i.e. Poison), or by an attack. If by an attack, then the power would activate because the Pokemon is replaced right away. If between turns, the Pokemon is not replaced until the end of that phase, so the power would NOT activate. (Sep 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team; Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ***** PREVIOUS RULING: THIS ONE HAS BEEN UPDATED; See Above ***** Q. Say your active Pokémon gets knocked out. You promote a Pokémon to the active position with an 'if active between turns' Pokémon power like Victreebel's 'Acid Sampler' or Butterfree's 'Sooth Dust'. Does that power get activated? A. Yes, the Power would activate. Once a Pokémon gets knocked out it must be replaced right away, so the Victreebel or Butterfree would indeed be "active between turns". (Sep 2, 2004 PUI Rules Team) == STRIKES BACK (Machamp - Base Set; Rocket's Hitmonchan EX - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. Player-A's Pokemon is 10 hp from being knocked out, has two prizes left. Player-B has a Rocket's Hitmonchan-EX active with only one prize left. Player-A KO's Player-B's EX for the two prize win. My question is if Player-B's Hitmonchan can use its "Strikes Back" Poke-BODY to damage the attacking pokemon letting Player-B take his/her last prize also winning the game for Player-B? And if so, would this result in a Sudden Death or does Player-A KO the Hitmonchan before its power gets to strike back? A. The "Strikes Back" Poke-BODY would get to go off as part of resolving Player-A's attack. This scenario would go to Sudden Death. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == FEINT ATTACK (Murkrow - Neo: Genesis; Umbreon - Neo: Discovery; Houndour - Aquapolis; Rocket's Tricky Gym - EX:Team Rocket Returns; others) Q. If an opponent's Rhydon with "Power Diffusion" is active and my "Feint Attack" targets the bench, the Poke-body trying to prevent the damage is not on the Pokemon being attacked. So would Rhydon stop any Feint Attack damage to the bench or not? A.
