Can I use Deoxys' "Form Change" to search for the same kind of Deoxys (i.e. different physical card, but same type, HP, attacks, etc.)? A. Yes, because you search for the card in your deck before putting the current Deoxys back into the deck. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) Q. My opponent uses an "Amnesia" attack against my Dexoys' "Link Blast" attack. On my turn I use Deoxys' "Form Change" Poke-POWER. What happens if I replace the Deoxys Link Blast for a Deoxys Energy Crush; can I attack with Energy Crush? A. Yes you can. But if you replace the old Deoxys with the same kind it would not be able to use its "Link Blast" attack because Form Change retains the same effects as the Deoxys that had been Amnesia'd. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == QUICK SEARCH (Pidgeot - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green) Q. If you use Pidgeot's "Quick Search" power, do you *have to* take a card from your deck? A. Yes, if you decide to use the Power you must take a card. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == SMOOTH OVER (Magcargo - EX:Deoxys) Q. Is Magcargo's "Smooth Over" Poke-POWER cumulative? A. Yes, if you have more than one Magcargo in play each one may use its Smooth Over once per turn. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- POKEMON ATTACKS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == AMNESIA (Poliwhirl - Base Set, Wooper - Neo: Genesis Expansion, others) Q. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) Q. Can you use "Amnesia" on an attack not on the defending Pokemon's card? For example, could you use it against one of the earlier stage's attacks if "Meteor Falls" stadium was in play, or against "Feint Attack" with Rocket's Tricky Gym in play or against "Stone Generator" that your opponent may play on the next turn? A. No, you can only use Amnesia on the attacks that are present on the opponent's card at the time of your attack. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == HYPER WHIRLPOOL (Blastoise EX - EX:Fire Red / Leaf Green; Kingdra - EX:Team Rocket Returns) [CHRISBO NOTE: Add Kingdra to section header] Q. TRR Kingdra's "Hyper Whirlpool" says "Flip a coin until you get tails. For each heads, discard an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon." Who chooses the Energy card(s) to discard, you or the opponent? A. The wording on Kingdra's "Hyper Whirlpool" is different than the same attack on Blastoise-EX. For Blastoise-EX the opponent chooses which energy to discard. But for Kingdra, the attacker gets to choose. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == MASS DESTRUCTION (Electrode - EX:Hidden Legends) Q. I have Hidden Legends Electrode and use "Mass Destruction" to knock out Electode and the defending Pokemon. If I have only one prize left and my opponent has more, but I have no bench and my opponent has a bench, do I still win? A. No, in this situation it would go to Sudden Death. However, if the opponent did not have any Pokemon on their bench, the Electrode player would have two win conditions vs. one, and would therefore win the game. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) == RAINBOW MOVES (Togetic - EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. Togetic vs. Lanturn... I believe you should be able to do 90 using "Rainbow Moves" to copy "Lightning Strike", because it says discard ALL lightning energies. If i have none that is still a number that I discard. A. It says, "IF you discard all Lightning energies". You didn't do any discarding (since you had none), so you can't do 90 damage in this way. But if you DO have a Ligtning energy attached and you discard it, THEN you would get to do 90. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TRAINER CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == SWOOP! TELEPORTER (EX:Team Rocket Returns) Q. Can I use "Swoop! Teleporter" with a Fossil card that is in play? A. Yes you can, but you wouldn't be able to switch for another fossil, because in your deck they are not counted as Pokemon. (Mar 10, 2005 PUI Rules Team) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ENERGY CARDS ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- GENERAL GAMEPLAY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- == WIN STATES Q.
