If there are two simultaneous things happening to your Pokemon, you may choose the order. Between turns is a longer answer with a different angle - a Pokemon is not Knocked Out until everything during the between turns is resolved. They're not simultaneous effects. But you still have to resolve ALL the effects on each player's Pokemon before the next player starts his or her turn.
